Supporting Alaska, beyond the workplace.

For more than two decades, the Alaska Correctional Officers Association has represented Correctional Officers and their families throughout Alaska. Our commitment to the State extends beyond the workplace and into the communities our members call home.

Through contributions to local programs and charitable causes, choosing Alaska businesses for our everyday needs, and recognizing the community involvement of our members, ACOA is proud to support the people, businesses, and organizations that make Alaska home.

Supporting Alaska Businesses

ACOA believes in supporting Alaska’s economy by choosing local businesses for our day-to-day operations, association materials, and special events. From printing and merchandise to catering and event venues, we value the businesses that help us serve our membership.

These are some of the Alaska businesses and local venues ACOA regularly relies on.

ACOA turns to Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop for catering our office meetings, special events, and gatherings, helping us keep our event spending with a local Alaska business whenever possible.

ACOA orders gourmet popcorn in bulk from Jazzy Gourmet Popcorn to give as gifts to Correctional Officers and others throughout the year, adding a little something special to the ways we show our appreciation.

ACOA relies on Alaska Best Water for our office drinking water service, keeping fresh drinking water available for staff, members, and visitors throughout the year.

ACOA chooses local venues for our larger gatherings and events. The Dena’ina Center will welcome ACOA members from across the state as the host of our 2027 Annual Meeting.

ACOA relies on Deeptree for IT services and technical support, helping keep our office systems and technology running smoothly so we can stay focused on serving our members.

From shirts and hoodies to other ACOA gear, Alaska Serigraphics produces the branded merchandise we offer our members and helps us bring ACOA designs off the screen and into the real world.

ACOA relies on Color Art Printing for professionally printed materials throughout the year, including our annual Christmas cards and other specialty print projects.

Assets Printing helps ACOA with some of the less flashy—but essential—parts of keeping the association running, including printing our envelopes, stationery, and election materials.

Goodland Landscaping takes care of the lawn and grounds surrounding the ACOA office, helping keep our property looking its best throughout Alaska’s warmer months.

Alaska winters bring plenty of snow, and MCPM Property Maintenance helps keep our office driveway clear and accessible throughout the season.

Gage Tree Service handles the installation of our Christmas lights each year, helping bring a little holiday cheer to the ACOA office during Alaska’s long winter months.

Giving Back to Our Communities

ACOA supports a variety of community programs and charitable causes throughout Alaska. From sponsoring youth sports teams to contributing to fundraisers and nonprofit organizations, we believe in supporting the communities where our members and their families live. Our contributions have included local youth sports teams, the Lost Lake Run benefiting cystic fibrosis research, and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, which raises awareness and support for survivors of sexual violence.

Supporting the Next Generation

ACOA is proud to support youth sports programs throughout Alaska, teams with children of correctional officers among their participants. These contributions help provide opportunities for young athletes while supporting the families and communities that are part of our association.

Community Donations

This annual charity hockey game brings local firefighters and law enforcement together on the ice to raise funds for Providence Children’s Hospital. Donations from the event help support programs and care for children and families receiving treatment at the hospital.

Seward Parks & Recreation provides recreational, educational, and community programs for children and families in Seward. ACOA’s donation helps support local youth activities and programs, creating opportunities for kids to participate, stay active, and connect with their community.

The Lost Lake Run is an annual Alaska trail race and fundraiser benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Donations help fund cystic fibrosis research, treatments, advocacy, and efforts toward finding a cure for the genetic disease.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an annual community event benefiting STAR — Standing Together Against Rape. Funds raised help STAR provide services and support to survivors of sexual assault while promoting awareness and prevention of sexual violence throughout Alaska.

Officers in the Community

Over the years, ACOA members have participated in events such as the Polar Plunge, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, and Shop with a Hero. These efforts reflect the generosity and community spirit of correctional officers throughout Alaska.

Supporting the communities we call home.

Whether by choosing Alaska businesses, contributing to local programs and charitable causes, or through the individual efforts of our members, ACOA is proud to invest in the communities where Alaska’s correctional officers live, work, and raise their families.
