ACOA members are assigned a square for the football pool. To find your square, look for your number on the enclosed quarter sheets. We added some additional ways to win in this year’s football pool. Review the below instructions on all the ways you can win. Good luck!
We want everyone to participate in ACOA’s annual Super Bowl Football pool. This is a free pool; every CO, in good standing, is automatically entered. Never been in a football pool before, that’s okay. We have it all laid out for you.
How your free football pool works.
At the end of the 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, and Final Game score, look at the last number of each team’s score. Then match those numbers on the grid and see which square intersects those two numbers. If you have never been in a football pool, ask a fellow Officer who has played before or give us a call.
How did we create the Quarter Sheets?
First, we assigned a number to each Officer (1 – 940). Second, COs‘ numbers were randomly inserted into each square on the board. There are 400 squares (4 quarters – 100 squares each), and each of the squares has two or three numbers in it. Last, we randomly drew the “score” numbers for each quarter and completed the square sheets.
1st Way to Win – $200
The winning squares are determined by each team’s score at the end of each quarter and if there is overtime, instead of the 4th quarter, the final score. You win $200 if your number is in the winning square. Example: Let’s say the square with your number is under the heading “Seahawks” 7 and “Patriots” 0 in the second quarter. If the Seahawks’ score is 7, 17, 27, or, 37 and the Patriots’ score is 0, 10, 20, or 30 at the end of the 2nd quarter, you, and the other Officer(s) in your square, each win $200.
2nd Way to Win – $50 (touching)
If your number is in a square touching the winning square, you will win $50. In the example, each of the squares touching the winning square from the 1st way to win above will each win $50.
3rd Way to Win – $25 (row & column)
You will win $25 if your number is in a square within the same row or column as the winning square. In the example, each of the squares within the row and column from the 1st way to win will each win $25.
