Law Enforcement groups from across Alaska participate in the Polar Plunge to help raise money for the Special Olympics. This is a great way to promote a positive image of Correctional Officers as Law Enforcement to the public. This will be our 2nd year putting together a CO team for this event. We encourage Officers to come jump in a freezing cold lake with us for a great cause.
This is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. To participate every person who jumps must raise $125. Registration is free. Once you sign up Special Olympics will provide you with a link to use for donations. The donations will be logged for you personally but will also contribute to our CO team page.
Don’t want to jump, but still willing to donate? That’s awesome! Find any Officer who is jumping and donate to his or her page. Each donation will help the entire Correctional Officer Team.

What is the Polar Plunge?
“Freezin’ for a Reason! The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics Alaska athletes by gathering pledges and plunging into the icy water of Goose Lake. For those who are “Too Cool to Plunge” (can’t plunge) you can still participate by pledging and still earn incentives.”
