We Need Volunteers
Several other Law Enforcement groups participate in the Polar Plunge to help raise money for the Special Olympics, so we decided COs need to be represented. This is going to be our first year putting a team together for this event and we encourage as many Officer as possible to come jump with our team. It is a great way to build the image for all Law Enforcement while contributing to a great cause.
To be clear, this is a fundraiser. To participate each person needs to raise $125. You can donate the full $125 yourself or get your friends, family, neighbors, or fellow Officers to donate on your behalf. Once you register you will be giving a link that anyone can use to donate. The donations will be recorded for you personally, as well as the CO team. If you do not want to jump but are willing to donate that’s alright. Just talk to an Officer who signed up and donate through their page – or give us a call at the ACOA Office.
* All proceeds go to Special Olympics Alaska to provide sports training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities.
What is the Polar Plunge?
“3,2,1 Plunge! Its that time again for Freezin’ for a Reason! Come take the plunge at the 10th Annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Alaska Saturday, December 15 at Goose Lake in Anchorage. “The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics Alaska athletes by gathering pledges and plunging into the icy water of Goose Lake. For those who are “Too Cool to Plunge” (can’t plunge) you can still participate by pledging and still earn incentives.”
