How it Works
Calls to 866-YOU-VENT go to an answering service which then patches them through to the Responder on duty. Callers talk to a trained lay Responder. They can also make an appointment for a free phone consultation with a mental health provider or a phone session with a corrections peer supporter.
Please note: Dialing *67 (star 67) followed by 1-866-968-8368 makes your phone number unavailable to Caller ID systems.
We also receive e-mails from corrections staff and families. We invite you to write us at youvent@desertwaters.com. Our goal is for our Responders to reply to you as soon as possible, within 6 hours.
Limits of Confidentiality
When identifying information is provided, we are mandated to report child and vulnerable adult abuse, and danger to self or others.
Consulting a Mental Health Provider
Callers can speak with a mental health provider anonymously one time for an emergency/screening call. If they wish to pursue additional counseling, the second session needs to be face-to-face at the counselor’s office. Following that, callers can resume counseling by phone. Please contact us for more details.
