The Senate Finance Committee heard the close-out report from the Correction Sub-Committee. They also discuss the Goose Creek and Bethel Facilities.

Representative Kawasaki requested that the following intent language be placed in the operating budget. Unfortunately the language failed, but it gives us an avenue to pursue in the Senate.
"It is the intent of the legislature that the Department of Corrections not implement a blended staffing model, which reduces the amount of twelve-hour shifts and increases the amount of eight-hour shifts, until after January 1, 2013, when the Department shall provide an analysis to the Legislature showing the potential costs or savings of the plan."
