Alaska Correctional Officers Foundation

The Alaska Correctional Officers Foundation is being currently being created by the ACOA Corporate board. We will continue to update this page on it's status. ACOF will have it's own website up and running soon at www.acof.us.

"The Alaska Correctional Officers Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness concerning issues facing the Correctional Officers of Alaska.  Correctional Officers put their lives on the line every day and yet they receive little credit or recognition.  Alaska Correctional Officers Foundation (ACOF) aims to change that.  Every day and night, including snowdays and holidays Alaska Correctional Officers are surrounded by some of the worst individuals society has to offer yet, selflessly and diligently, they stand strong in the face of danger keeping Alaska safe.

The police arrest the bad guys, courts and juries convict and sentence them, but it is the Correctional Officers that must deal with them day in, day out until their sentences are satisfied.  So, the next time you read about the apprehension of a violent, dangerous criminal, please remember they do not just disappear.  Give some thought to the Correctional Officers who will be keeping watch over them, keep all of us safe."

ACOF will work to...

Educate the public and honor Correctional Officers by

Maintaining an informative and attractive website

Implementing a multifaceted media campaign including TV, radio, newspaper, and direct mail

Look to support Officers throughout the community

Give back to the Correctional Officers of Alaska by

Organizing fun institution and statewide events

Supporting Officers in times of hardship

Develop funds to help Officers with medical expenses
