On December 9, 2005 at Wildwood Correctional Center, Officer George Showalter was assaulted by an inmate. He was hit in the face. He incurred five fractures, two around the eye socket and three to the cheekbone. Click here to view a picture of the damage done to Officer Showalter.

To compound the situation, the inmate, who knew officers would come after him, soaped the floor. Officer Steve West unfortunately fell, hurt his knee, and is now recovering from surgery.

We wish them both a speedy recovery.
